TOPIC: The Tilt-Up System - What is it All About?
Mark Johnson will be presenting the Tilt-Up System and how it is integral to many successful buildings designed by his firm over the last two decades. The examples of Tilt-Up buildings presented will show how the system has evolved well beyond the stereotypical box of tilt-up warehouses. You will see curved panels, multi-story projects with bearing and stacked panels, cladding panels, and very tall panels. During this presentation he will also provide a cursory review of panel design, preparation and review of panel shop drawings, panel connection considerations, and available resources for the design industry.

Mark Johnson, PE, SECB is President of Johnson Structural Group, Inc., a commercial structural engineering firm established in Boca Raton, Florida in 1998. Mr. Johnson and his firm have designed over 1500 commercial projects and has received almost 20 awards for their work including "Engineer of the Year" award from the Tilt-up Concrete Association. He is currently on the board of the Tilt-up Concrete Association and past president of the Florida Structural Engineers Association Palm Beaches. Registration: 6:00 pm cash bar
